6/9 Vancouver, boarding Zuiderdam for Alaska

Got off early to catch the ferry back to the mainland. The scene at Vancouver port immigration was chaos….4500 people who all came at the same time on buses, to be ‘ processed’ to board 2 different boats. There was a huge hall of very cranky people. Anyway, 3 hours later, we were settling ourselves on board, and within what seemed like no time, had to attend a compulsory lifeboat muster exercise, without life jackets, which we were told to leave in our rooms (??!!)….and 2 rooms of people in my lifeboat, didn’t make it to muster, so we were kept waiting….. Grrrr!!
After all of that, my tour group made its way to the Crow’s Nest bar for a few bevvies, before we went back to our rooms to unpack.
Woo hoo, 6 days of no packing and unpacking luggage!!
